The Jasmine Revolution..

Jasmine revolution which started in Tunisia is a civil resistance by the people against its longtime president. Street demonstrations form a main part of the revolution. The demonstrations which have have now precipitated throughout the  Arab nations are mainly because of the  discontent in a common-man due to unemployment, corruption, lack of freedom etc.

It all started when a 26 year old  Mohamed Bouazizi a vegetable seller and the sole income of his family set himself on fire in front of the provincial headquarters after being opressed by the government officials. Public outrage grew in no time leading to protests and riots.

This is yet another example which shows that the government shouldn't underestimate a common-man cuz he is patient and understanding but when a line is crossed..he rises and he rises in numbers with determination and his wrath which had been kept supressed for a long long time bursts out and takes with it the downfall of the government..

The Jasmine revolution has opened the eyes of many other countries who had been bearing the atrocities of their rulers till now..and similar such protests were seen in Tunisia's neighbouring countries like Egypt..Tunisia and Egypt got its freedom- freedom from an autocratic rule..

These protests have been started in mainly those regions where the unjust regimes have ruled for decades..The nations which have recently started protesting are Bahrain, Libya, Yemen, Morocco, Algeria, Oman and there was also a protest attempt seen in China..

These days the world is watching Libya for the ongoing unrest. Gaddafi who has ruled the country for  four decades now, has surprised everyone by using the military and the bullets on his own people.

The Jasmine revolution and the other protests it inspired will definitely go down in history and it is now for the world to watch where it leads to and learn a great deal from it.
